Matching Existing Records
When performing an Import, Campaign Deputy will automatically attempt to match to existing records. Matches require at least two pieces of data, though we recommend more to help with the matching logic. We will not match on the following:
Name Only
First Name and Zip Code
Source or Origin Code
While some accounts may have a small number of contacts that could match on first name, this does not work 100% of the time with larger accounts. Make sure to provide as much information during the import to help the matching algorithm.
Data needed for matching
First and Last Name
Email Address
Full street address (Street, city, state, zip code)
A phone number
There may still be times when we do no match to a record. This may be due to an uncommon nickname, a person has moved, and misspellings. A Potential Duplicates report is available from the Reports tab.
