What is an Offset?

When you use third party tools like ActBlue, Paypal, Stripe, or Square, their deposits are the net of your contributions, minus any fees for processing. You may have a $100 contribution, while your bank deposit will show $98.74. Creating a Disbursement to your third party tool allows the Deposit to balance to 0, instead of showing the Deposit total being under the full amount. We use the term Offset here to show that this is only for those cases when your bank deposit is the net not the total and you want to offset your deposit balance.
