Fund Accounts Overview

Edited

Fund Accounting is mostly from the Non-Profit world This also applies to Campaigns, PACs, and Political Parties as some compliance requirements require separate accounting. For instance, Political Parties in KY can raise funds for a Building Fun, while elected officials in California can have their own fund for their electoral work.

Only one fund can be the Default for the account. The Default Fund will be automatically selected when adding a check and for most incoming online contributions. Setting a new Fund as the default will remove it from the other Fund. Contributions, Disbursements, and other transactions will not be affected by making this change.

When creating a new Fund, or editing a Fund, you have the option to mark the Fund as the Default Fund and to set the Reporting Fund Type for your compliance purposes. The Reporting Fund Type varies by state, or which committee you are with the FEC. These options are set by the Campaign Deputy team and cannot be customized.
