BankConnect+
BankConnect+ is available on all Raise and Scale plans. Like BankConnect, it lives on the Accounting > Accounts page, where you can see your cash on hand, total contributions, and bank balance at a glance, along with a list of connected accounts, recent deposits, and recent transactions. BankConnect+ uses Plaid to connect directly to your bank, so your transactions and balance sync automatically throughout the day instead of relying on manually uploaded statements. This article covers connecting an account and how syncing works; matching transactions to contributions and deposits works the same way as it does for manual BankConnect accounts.
Connecting Your Bank Account via Plaid
From Accounting > Accounts, click "Connect Bank Account."
Search for your bank or select it from the list of institutions.
Depending on your bank, you'll either be redirected to log in directly (similar to "Log in with Google") or asked to enter your username and password, plus two-factor authentication if enabled. This information goes securely to Plaid, not to Campaign Deputy.
Select which account(s) you'd like to connect.
Click "Continue" to finish linking the account.
Once connected, the account appears in your Accounts list with its own detail page, just like a manual account.
How Transaction Syncing Works
After your bank is connected, Plaid checks for new activity a few times a day and automatically sends any new transactions and balance updates to Campaign Deputy. There's nothing to export or upload yourself, and your account balance stays current without manual intervention. Campaign Deputy never has direct access to your bank account and cannot initiate any transactions.
Matching Contributions to Deposits
Incoming transactions start out as "Pending," just as they do with manual BankConnect accounts. Click any pending transaction to reconcile it, and choose the option that fits: Bank Deposit to match it to one or more existing contributions (Campaign Deputy will suggest likely matches by amount and date), Refund to link it to a disbursement that was returned to the campaign, or Single Contribution to record a brand-new contribution directly from the transaction. Once matched, the transaction's status changes to "Matched" and is reflected in your account balance and contribution records.
