Candidate 48-Hour Notice

Edited

Additional reporting requirements apply to candidate committees less than 20 days but more than 48 hours before the day of an election in which the candidate is running. For these reporting purposes, election day begins at 12:01 a.m.

During this time period, House, Senate and quarterly-filing presidential committees file a 48-Hour Notice (Form 6) anytime they receive a contribution of $1,000 or more. This notice is due within 48 hours of receiving each qualifying contribution. Committees will also itemize these last-minute contributions in their next regular report.

How to File a 48-Hour Notice in Campaign Deputy

To file a 48-Hour Notice in Campaign Deputy, you can access this from the Reports->Disclosure-> 48-Hour Reports report. You will see a list of contributions in the past week. You have the option to generate and mark these as complete to keep track of which Contributions have already been reported.

Generated Form 6 reports can be found in the Generated Tab as well. If you download a report and want to file it, you can find it in the Generated Reports tab in the Disclosure Reports.

Joint Fundraising Contributions

If you are receiving Joint Fundraising Contributions and have added the Transfer along with the Itemizations of those donors you will see additional Contributions listed in the format of "JFC Committee Name - Donor Name". Selecting one of these will print the Itemization contribution on the FEC Form.

At this time, you cannot mark an itemization as complete, only the parent Contribution can be marked as complete. Marking the Parent Contribution will mark the corresponding itemizations as complete.

Manually Filing

You can manual file any transaction using the FEC Web Forms.

If you have a "Loans from the candidate and other non-bank sources", or "Endorsements or guarantees of loans from banks" you may need to manually file those transactions.
