Closing a Cycle

If you are running again or for re-election, you need to do the below steps to transition to a new cycle. This is important as the Column B values are reset to zero after an election.

• Generate your Post-General Report and File it with the FEC.

• Contact our Support team to close your previous cycle, and create a new cycle.

  • Provide an election date, estimates are fine.

  • Provide a starting cash on hand balance for the day after your election.

Our team will close our your previous cycle, and update the starting cash on hand for the new cycle. Your Year-End report will be the first this needs to be done for. After that report, you can file future reports as normal.

If you are not sure, or have to resolve some debts, you don't have to perform any additional steps. Your Cycle to Date numbers will continue to stay the same as you do not have a new cycle. You must continue to file reports with the FEC until you decide and can resolve any outstanding debts.
