FEC Report Itemization
Why aren’t my transactions itemizing?
When you generate an FEC report in Campaign Deputy, any contribution that does not exceed the federal itemization threshold will be rolled up into the “Unitemized” total (Line 11a(ii)) rather than listed individually. You will not see these transactions in the excel export or Schedule A, or Schedule B.
Itemization threshold: Under FEC rules, contributions, and disbursements, over $200.00 must be itemized.
How Campaign Deputy handles it:
A contribution of exactly $200.00 is treated as unitemized and appears on Line 11a(ii).
A disbursement of exactly $200.00 is treated as unitemized.
A Person, or Organization, giving, or spending over $200.01 or more (Cycle to Date), will appear on your report with full details.
If you have a contribution of $200.01 or more that still isn’t appearing as an itemized entry, please send us the transaction details at Support@campaigndeputy.com so we can investigate.
Why are some transactions itemizing when they shouldn’t?
This usually comes down to the duplicate records, or candidate cycles. Cycle to date totals are calculated based on the Person or Organization record. If you have a duplicate Person, each will have their own Cycle to Date until they are merged. If your Campaign Deputy account spans more than one election cycle, transactions for your previous Candidate records do not count towards this cycle's Cycle to Date totals.
Example:
Donor Smith gave $1,000 in July of 2024.
Then they gave $10 twice during May of 2026.
Your report in 2024 will show them as itemized.
Your 2026 report will list them as un-itemized as a total of $20
